Films Coming Up

Welcome to the Wivenhoe Film Club

“We regret that, owing to the Covid19 pandemic we have cancelled the screening of Capernaum scheduled for 1 April.

We would like to thank our members and friends who have supported us during the past season and look forward to offering an equally stimulating programme of films in autumn this year or as soon as circumstances permit.”

The Wivenhoe Film Club was founded in 2002 for the enjoyment of film in the unique atmosphere of the Nottage Maritime Institute. Films are screened in the first-floor room at the Nottage and our season runs from September until April, usually with two screenings per month on Wednesday evenings. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.

We screen a varied selection of high quality international films, many of which have been ignored by the major cinema chains. Foreign films are shown in the original language with English sub-titles.

Club membership costs £10 per annum and is open to all. Guests are also very welcome. Entrance is £4 for members and £6 for guests. Themed refreshments and comfortable seating add to the welcoming ambience.
To become a member, you can join on the door or download an application form from the Membership page of this website and send it to Wivenhoe Film Club, Nottage Maritime Institute, The Quay, Wivenhoe, Colchester, Essex CO7 9BX. Please make cheques payable to The Nottage Maritime Institute.

There is a stair lift at the rear of the building. Wheelchair users may require further assistance.
